100th to my best friend

Toby.

Where do I begin. Do I start with the first day I saw her sitting under our rocking chair and screamed my head off in fright, or the day I couldn't hold back tears in front of so many people, as I saw her for the last time this December while she howled as I put my bags in the car to come back here.

I don't know.

But I can tell you this that she is as much a part of my childhood as anyone ever will be. She's Toby. My Germanshephard with the heart of a month-old pup, feelings no different than ours and soulful eyes that melt my heart everytime I see our lives reflected in them. I'm no profound writer and I can't conjure up words that glorify at the drop of a hat. But I did want to dedicate this day, the day of my 100th post, to my dogs, Toby (in the picture) and Pongo (who left us a year ago, to a much, much better place with Him). Words won't come to mind and I really wish I had better words to describe my feelings at this moment as I sit here, wishing I was closer to Toby. But then again, no words can describe the bond we share... and she can't understand the words either. The only language she understands is that of emotion -- and the emotions run deeper than words ever could convey...

I miss ya, Toby. We'll be together soon.

So here's to a man/woman's best friend.

I apologize for the rather sad, reminiscing tone of this shot, but I wanted to put up something that meant a lot to me (really do wish I had better pictures of her to remember her by). It so happens that with all the places we've lived in such a short period of time, things, places and people who make up my happy thoughts, have been short-lived too. Hence the reminiscing. But if one asks for celebration on their 100th, this is a celebration of life-long friendship. So yay :)

I'll continue the wildlife|series in a couple of days. Until then.
